I came to DR Congo for job yesterday. In the airport there were many staff of immigration office. They were talking each other with Swahili language. So I thought I would not need to learn French and my speaking skills of Swahili language is going to be enough to live here. But after getting out the airport I could hear various languages. French is a national language in DRC and there are several dominant local languages. It is strange to me because in Tanzania, Swahili language was mainly used over all areas of TZ. Even though there were a lot of tribe languages, it was not easy to hear those.
These are what I saw when I was going to my company. It is worse than what I watched in TZ four years ago. They are under the bad traffic conditions. In the first picture, the car in navy looks like is going to loose its front wheels soon. It just seems they haven't arranged traffic laws well.
Another weird feeling
When I was a volunteer in TZ, I was usually in the bad cars like in the above pictures. But I am in a nice car with an air conditioner as being with a profitable job in DR Congo. Now I can notice I am here for money not for giving helps.
